Realistic T-Shirt Display
I love RedBubble, seriously but one thing that bugs me is the presentation of the products here, specially the T-Shirts, wit the actual mock presentation it's hardly appealing for consumers outside the bubble.
If you could make it photo based it would be amazing and the implementation would be just as easy, but the sharing and promotion outside the site would be easier and catchier.
I know this has been mentioned before and you have made updates before, so I'm hoping that you are willing to do another and more photo realistic update this time to keep up with how nice the site and slick the site is looking now.
The current mockups of t-shirts are pretty ugly. Why while all the competitors (society6, designbyhumans, zazzle... to name a few) have nice photos and "realistic" previews of the designs here we have this ugly illustration?
What we have now:
What other sites have:
While the cartoon T-shirt display does look good, it would be fantastic if Redbubble could trial the Model T-Shirt Display Images - Basically taking a photo of one guy + girl in slightly different poses (each pose represents 1 t-shirt colour) and using that as our display images.
I noticed that in the shop (http://www.redbubble.com/shop/t-shirts) there is a photo of a guy wearing a blue shirt but when you see the shop its all cartoon style, which I feel lets down the sales.
While I understand the depth and effort this would take, it will be worth it in the end as 'realistic' mock-ups tend to sell better - As the saying goes, "The more I can see it, the more I can believe it, and the more I want it".
How to do it:
1. Get a girl and Guy model
2. Take 30 shots of guy in one t-shirt in slightly different poses
3. Do the same for girl
4. Photoshop the t-shirt area and make duplicate images in different t-shirt colours
5. Do the same for 'back-view', hoodie etc
We’re absolutely working on these, and have been for some time. It’s one of those things you just have to do 100% right or else they look terrible and because of the range of styles / products that we have it’s taken longer than we would have liked.
That been said – we’ve completed the full photo shoot for these and they’ll be progressing soon.
Kinda feel we shouldn't have to be voting on such a subject at all. It's already been identified as an issue a while ago. Yet, it's now July and still hasn't been actioned! Having said, that tee's are still my biggest sellers so I guess the public have not been put off buying. However, I'm anything for making a product look more attractive and saleable
Yes please !!! I would put in this idea all my votes right now !!!
Very exciting...and speaking for myself and probably a few designers here, very motivating.

Yeah this really is a must have update! I have a Facebook page, Blog and Pinterest account all of which I like displaying items for sale on. I have a tendency to never post product pictures of my shirts because I'm afraid it will make my stuff look cheap or unappealing. The other products however like: Posters, Phone Cases, etc... all look wonderful and eye-catching. I am always glad to post them up on my sites. I hope the shirt display can reach that sort of quality soon!

There is an app for my iPhone called "Body" which allows what you are taking about. It is limited in the number of poses. Something I would like to see expanded.
with "you" i meant RB staff...
I don't think the current preview we have is ugly but I agree that it currently did not sit well with the other products RB is selling in terms of presentation. Other products are given a realistic photographic preview but the Tees have a completely different look, which is weird and inconsistent.
So yes, a photographic Tee Shirt preview would have been nice, and to be able to see all the tees shirts artwork in its final product state (worn by a human) rather than just the artwork in its square format would make sense (you did this with all the other products too except for tees)
This is a must MUST! I often put my shirt design on Society6 for a few seconds only to take a screenshot of a T-Shirt mock with a real shirt and then I remove my art.
Redbubble do this please.
like on teefury, they upload an image of the real shirt onto the same model's body, a boy and a girl. It also tells you how big or small the design will look. Great idea

Yes, totally agree, it puts me off (I love my Red bubble store) but I would love to see a more 'Zazzle' type display of T shirts.. And I would love to be able to sell SINGLETS too please!!
I wholeheartedly third this!
For example (for comparison's sake mind you): check out this ( http://ow.ly/tNQV3) side-by-side of a design on the current RedBubble option/display versus a model. Which one do you get drawn to?
If you like the one on the right, keep adding more votes to this new idea/suggestion!
p.s. I still love ya'll at redbubble.
Absolutely. My intention WAS to move all of my T-shirt designs to Redbubble from another site, but the pseudo-representation looks terrible & has made me reconsider. I'm quite sure that it would deter my customers from making purchases (it would certainly deter me).
This needs to be done. I'd prefer ghosted mocks of the t-shirts over models, but anything that is realistic is better than the cartoon mocks now.

I THINK SO TOO! I WANT TO BUY A SHIRT BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT IT WOULD ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE!
Check out live modeling on zazzle too.
