be able to make the design on a shirt as big or as small as you want it
since you can choose the color of the tshirt you want you should also be able to make the image for the shirt as big or as small as you want and where the image is place on the shirt like for instance the image can be put on the right shoulder of the shirt as big or as small as you want

This would be a tremendous upgrade to the website. Right now there are probably a half-dozen or more shirts out there that I really like and would love to have, but the placement of the design is not where I would prefer. I like the designs on the front of these shirts to be higher than the center of the shirts, but most artists put the design right in the center which I feel is too low. I would love to be able to raise it a few inches if I had the choice.
excellent suggestion

From an artist's perspective this could certainly make our design layouts easier. I manually position my designs in my art program so that they are printed where I think it should be printed, usually in the upper/centered chest area. Sometimes this requires me to reposition the design in my art program and reupload to get it right. With a reposition/scale option it could make it easier for me.
From a customer's perspective it gives them the choice they deserve. After all, they are paying good money for what they want. A reposition/scale option is certainly more consumer-friendly. I too would hate to buy a design where the position of that design was placed below the chest line.

Well, the shoulder Idea would be good, however more expensive...
(but I guess like Redbubble's turn on and off features, It could work)but the part where you said "make the image for the shirt as big or as small as you want"
...
I can't believe I'm saying this but... you use a photo/graphic editing tool/software (eg. PS or GIMP) and enlarge or shrink the image size you want, you have a 2400 X 3200 pixal size to play with, placements are up to you, if you want the image to be on the bottom, place the image on the bottom half, if you want it on the, place the image higher on the top half, want it on the corner... you know what I mean...But I see what you mean... for people who doesn't have photo/graphic editing tools/softwares...
It might be useful for them... -

I agree that this might be a technical challenge, but it's clearly what will set redbubble apart from the competition if they can make this happen. A few times I've thought it would be better if I could get a design right up to the neckline - for example, a design where it appears the model has a pair of headphones around their neck - doesn't really work if the printable area starts 2" from the neckline.

I should add as a customer I would like to be able to place my design where I want it, not as an artist. Resizing it doesn't matter so much to me.

I agree! I ordered a woman's fit xl and love the design added to it, but the placement of the design is too low. I'm chesty and the design just doesn't look right placed smack in the middle of the tee. It should've been about 5 inches higher & sadly bc of this I doubt I will wear my tee. :(

As far as I can tell, you can already do this by simply sizing and formatting the artwork within the available area of the t-shirt template.
So you want a left chest design, load up the template and place your design sized 3.5" wide in the left chest position, leaving all the other area as transparent.
If you want a print that takes up the full area, create high definition work that fills the template.
Doesn't that solve your problem?

I agree - technically this might be a challenge, but some ideas lend themselves to being able to wrap around the side of a t-shirt.

This is really good idea because on every other site where you can create custom shirts and hoodies the logos are way too small and don't cover shirt more than like 15% from 1 side or something!?
And i'm trying to find shop where to get images much larger for hoodie. -

I think this is a great idea, customizing an order could be a real hit...perhaps it would effect the pricing in the end,but nonetheless i think its an idea that will really be welcomed!
